Artist Photo

Karolina Zimna-Stelmaszewska is a Polish graphic artist based in Warsaw. She obtained her Master of Fine Arts degree (Magister sztuki) from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 2016, specializing in Editorial Graphics and Printmaking (grafika wydawnicza, grafika warsztatowa).

Since October 2020, she has been employed at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where she continues her artistic practice and academic work. Her artistic practice focuses on printmaking techniques, primarily aquatint and etching, to create intricate visual narratives.

Her work draws inspiration from the history and evolution of the Universe, combining contemporary worldviews with historical cartographic traditions. Through her graphic maps, she weaves together motifs of sea monsters, ships, and celestial bodies, inviting viewers on a journey through the Solar System while exploring fragments of cosmic exploration history.
